Jazz was first introduced when prohibition came about, and developed in Chicago quickly. Older generations saw it as immoral and threatening to customs. When speakeasies became more popular there were more places for Jazz musicians to play. Managers of Jazz musicians were beginning to profit greatly from them but still in 1922 critics didn't appreciate it. In 1924 The conductor of Philadelphia orchestra and embraced jazz music and musicians as being a serious form of art.
